At the pristine headwaters of the Russian River in Mendocino County lies a Tolkien-inspired land of wild beauty. Deep in the heart of the Frey Ranch, our Biodynamic vineyards are visited by woodpeckers, bobcats and the occasional black bear. As stewards of the land, we encourage biodiversity to nourish our grapevines: we cultivate organic wheat between rows, pasture sheep, goats and chickens in the vineyard, and nurture native plants to attract beneficial insects. Our wines are made in a harmonious rhythm with the planet – no pesticides or preservatives, ever!
Our Biodynamic Rhone-style blend is rich and succulent with aromas of juicy blackberry and olallieberry paving the way to a palate laden with cacao nibs, star anise and more earthy berry flavors. Try it with a gruyere cheese fondue accompanied by crusty baguette, gherkins, and slices of Granny Smith apple.
