Léopold Gourmel Quintessence 30 Carats Cognac is the superstar in the Gourmel range. This top end cognac is delightful from every aspect: from the complexity of taste to the presentation in a unique decanter. A blend of Fins Bois aux-de-vies, from Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes, each component has been aged for a minimum of 25 years, and then again for a further 10 years in younger oak barrels, which gives this cognac it’s incredible taste explosion. It’s a wonderful, rare gold color, and on the nose reminds one of an old, vintage, Sauternes wine – breath in the minerals, air, and freshness. On the palate there’s a wonderful marriage of fruit, flowers and spices – there’s red fruit in there with a touch of chamomile and citronella. The finish seems to be endless… Bottled in a hand-blown crystal decanter produced by Cristal de Sêvres.
